RDA to install Bangabandhu Square in Rajshahi
Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) is going to install Bangabandhu Square in the metropolis aims at upholding the consciousness of Bangabandhu and enhancing its beauty.
“We are going to establish “Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Square” at Talaimari crossing”, said Abdullah al Tarique, Executive Engineer of RDA, while talking to BSS here today.
Engineer Tarique said the square will be constructed on an area of one acre of land under the project. The basement will accommodate car parking, amphitheatre, art gallery and Bangabandhu sculpture surrounded by waterfall. There will modern sound system, lighting, permanent art gallery with digital screen and museum in the ground floor.
Besides, the first floor will house sophisticated restaurant, luxurious landscape and open sitting and amusement arrangement.
Apart from, the square will have three lifts, generator, solar panel and sub-station for power supply.
In implementing the project, a 251-meter road will be developed, added Engineer Tarique.
In addition, there will interior and landscaping works of the square. The mural will be installed on an area of 529.74 square meters. “We have acquired 0.5 acre of land and compensated the affected people under the project,” said Engineer Abdullah al Tarique adding that a 955-meter long RCC drain will be constructed. The project work is expected to complete by June, 2020.
Engineer Abdullah al Tarique said that the project has been designed with the main focus of upholding spirit and consciousness of Bangabandhu coupled with boosting the process of city’s beautification.
The Bangabandhu Square will be the pride for the people of Rajshahi, he added.
