President asks expatriates to uphold Bangladesh image
President M Abdul Hamid today urged expatriates Bangladeshis to highlight country’s different achievements across the globe and uphold country’s image as ambassadors of the country.
The head of the state made the call as Councilor and Speaker of East London’s Tower Hamlets Mohammad Ayas Miah paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban this evening.
Congratulating the Speaker for his election, the President said this achievement is being considered as the role model of socio-economic development of Bangladesh in various sectors, President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS after the meeting.
He added: the Speaker apprised the President of different activities of Tower hamlets and its overall role in local development there.
Secretaries concerned to Bangabhaban and chairperson of the Centre for Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) MS Shakil Chowdhury, among others, were present.
