Five Bangladeshi workers killed in Malaysia road crash
Five Bangladeshi expatriate workers were killed in a fatal road accident in Malaysia today as a bus carrying 44 workers skidded from the road and crashed into a 10-metre deep drain near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Apart from Bangladeshi nationals, another nine foreign workers including the driver of the bus also killed in the accident.
The dead Bangladeshi nationals are identified as Md Razib Munsi, 26, Sohel, 24, Mohin, 37, Al Amin, 25, and Golam Mostafa, 22, the Bangladesh high commission in Malaysia confirmed it to the Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Secretary through a letter this afternoon.
The high commission also informed that there are four Bangladeshi workers among the injured passengers of the bus that was carrying 43 foreign citizens and only one Malaysian national.
The injured four Bangladeshi workers– Md Rizbul Islam, Mohammad Yunus, Samim Ali and Sohel– were admitted to local hospitals, Bangladesh mission in Kuala Lumpur informed here.
Labour Councillor along with two other officials of Bangladesh high commission in Malaysia visited the accident side, hospitals and concerned police stations.
The Bangladesh mission in Malaysia has taken all initiatives to send the bodies to Bangladesh is shortest possible time and providing support to the injured Bangladeshi nationals, according to the Malaysian Bangladesh high commission letter informed the expatriate ministry.
