Rangpur ended BPL with a win over Dhaka

The Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 Cricket Tournament Mission ended with the win. Rangpur defeated Dhaka Platoon by 3 runs in the 5th match of the tournament on Friday.
Batting first, Rangpur scored 5 for 5 in 20 overs. In reply, Dhaka lost the match by 4 runs in 5 wickets. Despite this rate, Dhaka remained in second place in the table with 3 wins and 3 points in 3 matches. On the other hand, Rangpur left the sixth spot in the table with 5 wins and 12 points in 12 matches.
Dhaka Platoon won the toss at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Rangpur skipper Shane Watson took four for six in the first over of the innings against Toss.
However, Dhaka skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza was dismissed for the third over of the next over. Watson scored 5 runs off 8 balls. Then Mohammed Naim, another opener, and Cameron Delport of South Africa made their way to the pavilion. Delport 3 and Naim 1 runs out. Rangpur fell under pressure by losing 4 wickets for 5 runs.
However, England’s Lewis Gregory and Al-Amin Hossain batted in the fourth wicket. They added 5 runs in just 20 balls. Sri Lanka’s Thessara Perera stopped Gregory by 5. Gregory hit four fours and two sixes in his 42-ball innings. Al-Amin was out in the 5th over. Then the team runs 1. Al-Amin scored 5 runs off four fours and six sixes. Still, wicketkeeper Zaheerul Islam got Rangpur for 24 off four fours. Perera took 4 wickets in 22 overs.

Opener Enamul Haque lost the victory in the second over to chase a 5-run win. He was trapped in the run-out by 5 runs. After that, the opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and pitcher Heather Mehedi finished well. Mehdi, who scored only two runs in two matches, was very careful today. He was playing in the show. Tamim was a bit wary. So Tamim-Mehdi scored 4 runs in the second wicket. However, spinner Arafat Sunny showed the way for Rangpur to stop the two batsmen. Tendulkar scored 4 runs off 4 balls with four fours and four sixes. In the middle-order of the team, Mehdi-Tamim was dismissed by the middle-order of Dhaka in the name of Mini Dhs Dhaka lost 5 wickets in 5 runs. And that’s where the hope of winning the match in Dhaka ends. Junaid Khan of Taskin Ahmed-Pakistan took 2 wickets and Gregory Mustafizur took wickets.
Still there was hope in Dhaka. Because Mashrafe was the wicket. The last 12 balls required 3 runs. There were 3 wickets. Mustafizur’s captain Mashrafe could have scored 6 runs in 6 sixes in the sixth over. Therefore, Dhaka need 20 runs in the last over. But from Gregory’s last over, Mashrafe could not add more than 5 runs in the boundaries he got from four fours and three byes. In the end, Dhaka got 4 runs for 5 wickets. Junaid-Taskin-Sunny of Rangpur took two wickets.
